Acupuncture in Brookvale - Northern Beaches

Mr Chae Lim

Mr Chae Lim, Acupuncture Brookvale & RiverviewAcupuncture is a complementary medical practice that entails stimulating certain points on the body, most often with a needle penetrating the skin, to alleviate pain or to help with various diseases. Acupuncture is a safe and effective healing art backed by more than two thousand years of practice and research.

Acupuncture affects the body’s ‘energy’ flow, hence restoring balance and harmony in the channels. Five phase treatments are a root (initial) treatment intending to address the patient’s central imbalance. The diagnosis is made primarily from presenting complaint, as well as signs in the patients pulse and abdomen as well as reactivity in secondary points.

Acupuncture may be effective in pain management, increasing circulation and can help affect hormonal imbalances. Many people seek acupuncture for a variety of physical injuries that cause pain, including tendonitis, digestive disorders, infertility complaints and many more.

Acupuncture and Pregnancy

Acupuncture is very safe during pregnancy and is often used as a tool to help with women who are over-due. Specific acupuncture points may help the body to get ready for the birth and many midwives and doula’s are now recommending acupuncture as a conservative treatment before an induction.

Dr Daniel Ryken (chiropractor) and Mr Chae Lim discuss some at home acupressure points that may be useful to assist in bringing on labour.

Inducing Labour Acupressure Points

Chae Lim studied at UTS and completed a Bachelor of Traditional Chinese Medicine and is a fully licensed and skilled acupuncturist. Chae follows two different, yet complementary schools of thought and combines them if necessary to cover various manifestations of modern physical complaints; they are the mild and gentle Wu Xing (Five Phase) acupuncture. This technique is aimed to affect the deeper and subtle energy flow to address the body’s constitutional disharmony that can manifest in many cases as chronic illnesses. The other technique is a more physical and immediate style based on the Taiwanese Doctor Tung’s acupuncture point system. It is used extensively for, but not limited to various musculoskeletal disorders.

Chae provides quality acupuncture that is tailored to each individual patient with professionalism and integrity. Chae likes to be able to educate people about this ancient healing art and how it can be best utilised to achieve an optimal therapeutic outcome for the individual.
