Mr Chae Lim, Acupuncture Brookvale & Riverview

Acupuncture is a complementary medical practice that entails stimulating certain points on the body, most often with a needle, gently penetrating the skin, to alleviate pain or to help with various conditions.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine the acupuncture channel networks play a vital role in achieving and maintaining health, and acupuncture is just one method of stimulating that system.

Therefore health is conceived as a ‘balanced’ state in the channels and disease is where there is not.

In order to help patients achieve this balance Chae not only offers acupuncture but a wellness coaching session as part of the treatment that includes lifestyle advice, counselling, education on traditional concepts of health, and more.

Acupuncture and Pregnancy

Acupuncture is very safe during pregnancy and is often used as a tool to help with women who are over-due. Specific acupuncture points may help the body to get ready for the birth and many midwives and doula’s are now recommending acupuncture as a conservative treatment before an induction.

Dr Daniel Ryken (chiropractor) and Mr Chae Lim discuss some at home acupressure points that may be useful to assist in bringing on labour.
